Replay Community cohesion
November 2008
As school leaders, we are working towards a society where the diversity of people’s backgrounds is appreciated and valued through teaching, learning and the curriculum, equality and excellence, engagement and extended services. Schools can play an important role in achieving these goals, but they can’t do it on their own. They need to work with their local communities. In this online seminar, Sir Keith Ajegbo and Dr Denis Mongon explore the implications of this work for school leaders and offer practical examples of what school leaders are doing to promote community cohesion. The following resources are referenced in the seminar: Curriculum review diversity and citizenship by Sir Keith Ajegbo, Leadership for public value by Dr Denis Mongon and Charles Leadbeater, the Institute of Community Cohesion website, talk2learn highlights - community cohesion.
